PM Netanyahu warns the two northern nations after an exchange of fire on Friday; Tensions are growing after Israel killed a Hezbollah member near Damascus earlier in the week.

As tensions continue to rise on the Mediterranean Coast between Israel, Lebanon, and Syria, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a strong warning to both countries on Sunday. Things are in a phase of escalation after Israel killed a member of the Iranian-sponsored terror regime, Hezbollah, near Damascus earlier in the week.

Following the exchange of attacks between Israel and Syrian militants on Friday, he warned, “The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is prepared to respond to any threat… Regarding the northern front, we are acting according to our consistent policy of not allowing Iran to entrench militarily on our northern border.”

As for both countries, which have a strong Hezbollah presence, he warned that they will “bear the responsibility for any attack against Israel emanating from their territories.”, and reminded them that “We will not tolerate attacks on our forces.”

This is not the first time Netanyahu has issued such a warning. Both he and other officials have put Iran and its proxies on notice several times. Not long ago, Israel warned that they would be taking a more offensive approach in Syria regarding Iranian entrenchment, and that’s exactly what they’ve done.
