The United Nations is officially blacklisting companies that are associated with ‘Israeli settlements’ in what the UN and “Palestinians” view as “occupied territory”; Israel is determined to boycott them in return; Hotovely: no blacklist will undermine the historical connection of the Jewish people to their country.
On Wednesday, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) published their extensive list of companies that they will be blacklisting; companies that have any association with what the UN and “Palestinians” refer to as “Israeli settlements”, particularly in the areas of Judea & Samaria (The West Bank), Golan Heights, and East Jerusalem. To this day, despite all they do to make the world a better place, Israel is the only nation to have such a list comprised against them.
The list is comprised of 112 companies including 18 throughout six different countries including Great Britain, Luxembourg, the United States, France, Thailand, and the Netherlands. They were eying over 70 others. “Palestinian” Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh stated, “We will pursue companies listed in the report legally through international legal institutions and in courts in their countries for taking part in human rights violations in Palestine.” He would also demand compensation for the ‘illegal’ use of “Palestinian land”.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the news stating, “Whoever boycotts us will be boycotted.” This statement is a continuation of the attitude Israel has had towards the UNHRC for some time now, and they’re not alone. Both Israel and the United States backed out of the UNHRC in 2018 due to its premeditated antisemitic bias. And make no mistake, the bias is as real as it gets. While there are countries like Iran who are killing their own citizens and suppressing them on a daily basis, the UN remains silent, but given the opportunity to put the spotlight on the Jewish State, they will always be ready.
Netanyahu stated further, “The UN Human Rights Council is a biased body that is devoid of influence. Not for nothing have I already ordered the severing of ties with it. It was also not for nothing that the American administration has taken this step together with us. In recent years, we have promoted laws in most US states, which determine that strong action is to be taken against whoever tries to boycott Israel. Therefore, this body is unimportant. Instead of the organization dealing with human rights, it only tries to disparage Israel. We strongly reject this contemptible effort.”
President Rivlin also commented extensively, stating, “Boycotting Israeli companies does not advance the cause of peace and does not build confidence between the sides. We call on our friends around the world to speak out against this shameful initiative which reminds of dark periods in our history.” Before the holocaust, Germans began boycotting Jewish businesses in order to send a message – for no rational reason at all.
Also slamming the decision was Diaspora Affairs Minister Tzipi Hotovely, who stated, “For the State of Israel, these are businesses that work to strengthen the region’s economy and contribute to peace more than anything the UN has done in all its years of operation.”
In summary, it’s worth noting that the decision to unveil this blacklist came right after the release of President Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’, which left an aftertaste of further Israeli sovereignty over the land where Jews and Arabs reside and quite frankly, left the “Palestinians” humiliated. The “Palestinians” achieved nothing by rejecting this deal while Israel gained sovereignty. Not only did Israel win here but they’re also growing in diplomatic relations with Arab countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Morocco. To take it a step further, the “Palestinians” couldn’t even get the UN Security Council to approve of their resolution condemning Israeli sovereignty.
