President Trump implements a ban on the visas being held by Iranian leadership and their families; Ban affects travel into the United States for business, pleasure, school, etc.; White House makes this decision as Iran continues to destabilize the Middle East.
On Wednesday, the White House took another step forward in their maximum pressure campaign as they implemented visa bans on Iranian officials and their families. This decision comes on the heels of escalated aggression coming from the Iranian regime and their refusal to cooperate with really…anyone.
As Iran continues to become a force of destabilization throughout the Middle East, the sanctions being imposed by the White House are only increasing. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recently announced that Iran has taken their violation of the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) a step further in recent days, now using advanced centrifuges as they continue to build their stockpile of enriched uranium.
While addressing the press, Trump stated, “I have determined that it is in the interest of the United States to take action to restrict and suspend the entry into the United States, as immigrants or nonimmigrants, of senior government officials of Iran, and their immediate family members.”
In recognition of the fact that Iran has remained hostile toward the US while freely enjoying its benefits as a nation, a spokesman from the US State Department added, “For years the Iranian regime has criticized and worked against America while at the same time officials of the regime and their family members have quietly taken advantage of America’s freedom and prosperity including our excellent educational, employment, entertainment, and cultural opportunities here in the United States.”
