The big tech company is facing significant backlash after continuous conservative censorship while letting actual violations of the hook.

The White House is speaking out against the social media giant after a long history of suspending conservative voices. Most recently, the President’s son, Donald Trump Jr. was suspended for simply reposting the video of several doctors gathered outside the US Supreme Court to share their findings regarding COVID-19. It’s worth noting that this video was quickly removed from big tech platforms shortly after its release.

As others have, the Trump administration cited the tweets from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, which called for the extermination of Jewish people and the Zionist regime. White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany stated, “I thought it was very eye-opening and it tells you where these social media companies stand, where they’re not willing to assess the Ayatollah Khomeini’s tweets but they are willing to assess President Trump’s tweets.”

Israel’s Minister for Strategic Affairs Orit Farkash-Hacohen wrote to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in May presenting a similar argument with more precise evidence. Quoting Twitter’s own policy which states that a user “may not promote violence against, or directly attack, or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin or religious affiliation… or calls for mass murder,” which is exactly what Khamenei has done without any amount of accountability.

She would later add that “For far too long he has been allowed to spread calls for physical violence and antisemitism on Twitter.”

Khamenei, just months ago, called for the elimination of Israel and the Zionist regime. He also referred to them as a “cancerous tumor”.
