Russia to assist Iran in bypassing United States sanctions in transportation of oil via Crimea; Nations who purchase oil from Iran are subject to US sanctions themselves; US sanctions have caused daily Iranian oil export to drop from 2.5 million barrels a day to half a million; Muradov: Mutual interest in co-operation between Iran and Crimea is growing, especially considering the anti-Iranian policies of the United States.
In a move that could very well have serious ramifications, Russia, more specifically Crimea, has extended a helping hand to Iran regarding the export of oil. Iran’s oil economy has been devastated ever since President Trump withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and implemented sanctions on the number one sponsor of terror in the world.
When these sanctions were imposed, Iran went from exporting 2.5 million barrels of oil per day to just half a million-all of this within a few months’ time. The Kremlin’s official in Crimea, Georgy Muradov, stated, “Iran can use our shipping capabilities and transport oil through the Volga-Don canal, via Crimea, to the Black Sea… Mutual interest in co-operation between Iran and Crimea is growing, especially considering the anti-Iranian policies of the United States.”
Knowing how devastating these sanctions can be, Turkey has also been postponing the import of Iranian oil. Currently, all three of these economies are being hacked away at, so one can guess it’s only a matter of time before Turkey somehow gets involved with what Russia & Iran are doing. When Russia took Crimea in 2014, the US imposed sanctions on the region as well, bringing US-Russia relations to a very low point. In this, Russia and Iran have found themselves to have a mutual enemy in the US; “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”. These aren’t the only ties that Russia and Iran have. Certain divisions of their militaries may soon be running joint military exercises together.
These actions by Russia & Iran ought to be aggressively grabbing your attention. It won’t be long before Turkey gets involved. It very well may be that the nations who desire to harm Israel are just biding their time until the US is in a place of weakness, unable to support the Jewish state.
Just as He said…
God spoke through the prophet Ezekiel that there would be an invasion of the land of Israel in latter times. God described the setting and listed BY NAME (their ancient names) which nations would be involved. For the first time in history, Russia, Iran, and Turkey have formed an alliance in recent years-all three mentioned in Ezekiel 38. All three currently have struggling economies. Israel is back in their land and prospering. Israel is dwelling securely. All three will indeed invade Israel in the future, primarily for economic purposes, as the nations around the world speak out in protest, but do nothing. While we don’t know all of the details, we do know that God Himself will intervene.
In a fallen world full of chaos, events such as this ought to have you looking up. You can find hope and rest because everything is taking place just as He said.
