Citing “Palestine” as an illegitimate state, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a warning to the International Criminal Court regarding any investigations of war crimes against the Jewish State.

On Friday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a warning to the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding their continued attempts to assume jurisdiction over Israel. Their attempt in doing so is revealed in their consideration of investigating the region for supposed war crimes.

Pompeo also reminded the ICC, which is based in The Hague, Netherlands, that the US does not recognize “Palestine” as a sovereign state and would warn them against their agenda stating, “As we made clear when the Palestinians purported to join the Rome Statute, we do not believe the Palestinians qualify as a sovereign state, and they, therefore, are not qualified to obtain full membership, or participate as a state in international organizations, entities, or conferences, including the ICC.”

In December, Chief ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda concluded her investigation into the Arab-Jewish conflict and claimed there is reason to believe that war crimes were committed by both Israel and the “Palestinians.” At that time, she herself admitted that the ICC may not have jurisdiction over the region.

Reiterating to the ICC the danger of going down this path with what appears to be a “hidden” agenda, Pompeo said, “The United States reiterates its longstanding objection to any illegitimate ICC investigations. If the ICC continues down its current course, we will exact consequences.”
