17-year-old, Rina Schenrav, was murdered on Friday afternoon; Father & brother remain in the hospital; IDF suspects that an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) was the source of the attack; Kochavi: We are in the midst of a manhunt that is led by IDF troops, the Shin Bet and the police, and we are coordinating a broad intelligence operation in an effort to detect the perpetrators of the murderous and heinous attacks.

On Friday afternoon, 17-year-old Rina Schenrav, along with her brother and father, suffered an attack in the West Bank, or Judea & Samaria. Both the father and brother were flown to the hospital by helicopter while Rina was treated at the site. While her brother and father remain in the hospital due to injuries, Rina Schenrav has died and is now buried in Lod, her hometown. Her brother, Dvir, remains on life support.

Early investigations had led the IDF and Israeli Police to believe that the IED was thrown at the family from a passing car, but upon further investigation, it is now believed that the IED was planted by Ein Bubin Spring in the area of Dolev and that it was remote-detonated. If this is true, it means they were being watched. The IDF is trying to determine whether this was an isolated attack or if the suspects, who remain at large, are part of a terror organization. Regardless, their motives are the same-to kill as many Jews as possible. “We are in the midst of a manhunt that is led by IDF troops, the Shin Bet and the police, and we are coordinating a broad intelligence operation in an effort to detect the perpetrators of the murderous and heinous attacks. I am confident in our ability to locate the attackers quickly, and we will continue to provide high quality and comprehensive security response for residents living in Judea and Samaria,” stated Kochavi, Head of the Central Command.

Shortly after this series of events, PM Netanyahu spoke to Eitan (father) on the phone, wishing him and his son a “speedy recovery.” In truly sick praise of the attack, Hamas stated, “today’s operation is proof of the vitality of our people and their bravery and their failure to surrender to the crimes and terrorism of the occupation.” If the shoe were on the other foot, you’d be hearing about the death of a Palestinian from every news outlet on the planet.
