Prime Minister Netanyahu responded to the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue in the United States.
18 were killed and 6 injured during the shooting at the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday morning Sabbath services. The gunman, Robert Bowers, an anti-Semite, carried out the attack with an assault-style rifle and handguns yelling “All Jews must die.”
He was taken into custody by law enforcement and SWAT team forces. Four police officers were injured in the shoot-out. The police confirmed no children were killed in the attack.
Prime Minister Netanyahu gave a short address following the attack, stating Saturday night “I was heartbroken and appalled by the murderous attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue today. The entire people of Israel grieve with the families of the dead. We stand together with the Jewish community of Pittsburgh. We stand together with the American people in the face of this horrendous antisemitic brutality. And we all pray for the speedy recovery of the wounded.”
