Netanyahu vows to avenge recent terror attack in West Bank; Speaks of Israel’s sovereignty in the Golan Heights as an ancient right; PM: Israel’s sovereignty of Golan Heights keeps out Iran and Hezbollah.

Prime Minister Netanyahu called on the international community to recognize Israel’s sovereignty in the Golan Heights.

Speaking at a ceremony at the Ein Keshatot archaeological site in the Golan Heights Monday evening, the prime minister addressed the recent terror attack by a Palestinian employed at an Israeli factory in the West Bank on Sunday. Two were killed, Kim Yechezkel and Ziv Hajb, by a terrorist who was employed by the Israeli factory, Prime Minister Netanyahu vowing “We will catch the abhorrent murderer and we will settle accounts with him. The blood of Israeli citizens will not be spilled in vain.”

Speaking of the threat on Israel’s borders, he stated “Iran’s attempts to establish a military presence and the aggression of terrorist fanatics,” reiterating that the State of Israel “will continue to stand strong and determined against all of these.”

Specifically on the Golan Heights, the prime minister stated Israel’s presence in the Golan Heights “is a guarantee for stability in the surrounding area,” as well as a “a solid reality based on ancient rights”. He added that the “international community must recognize and as long as it depends on me the Golan Heights will always remain under Israeli sovereignty because otherwise we would have Iran and Hezbollah on the shores of the Kineret [Sea of Galilee].”

On the threats from Syria and Lebanon, he spoke of Iran and Hezbollah efforts to “establish a force opposite us that would operate against the Golan Heights and the Galilee,” stating on the IDF preemptive strikes “We are thwarting this and as long as it depends on me we will continue to do so. We will continue to act with determination against Iran’s attempts to open an additional front against us on the Golan Heights, and in Syria we will act against all attempts to transfer lethal weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon.”

On ongoing Israeli-Russian military coordination and an upcoming meeting with President Putin, Netanyahu stated “I know that President Putin understands my commitment to the security of Israel and I know that he also understands the importance that I ascribe to the Golan Heights, that we all ascribe to the Golan Heights and to the heritage of Israel.”
