The prime minister refused cooperation with the Jewish State citing his displeasure with the ‘Zionist’ regime and favor of the Palestinian people; This announce was made prior to Jared Kushner’s arrival to the region.
On Sunday, Prime Minister of Morocco Saad Dine El Otmani issued a statement in an attempt to make it clear that Morocco has no interest in normalizing diplomatic ties with Israel. His statement came prior to US President Trump’s Son in Law and Senior Advisor, Jared Kushner, arrived in the region.
The Prime Minister stated, “We refuse any normalization with the Zionist entity because this emboldens it to go further in breaching the rights of the Palestinian people.”
The last time Israel and Morocco had remotely normal ties was back in 2000, which was brought to an end by the Moroccan government. El Otmani’s rejection of peace with Israel comes at a time when some in Israel were expecting Morocco to be one of the next Arab states to normalize ties.
