Amid tensions with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jared Kushner and other US officials are travelling to the Middle East to meet with multiple significant leaders; This follows on the heels of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unprecedented trip to the Saudi Kingdom last week.

Senior White House advisor and son in law to US President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, is traveling throughout the Middle East this week accompanied by other White House officials. This trip comes after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met privately with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman last week. Mossad Chief Yossi Cohen also partook in the meeting.

The visit also comes after the assassination of Iran’s leading nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was killed on Friday afternoon an hour and a half east of Tehran. Fakhrizadeh was believed to be responsible for Iran’s covert nuclear program and has even been called ‘irreplaceable.’

Kushner and other officials are meeting with bin Salman in Saudi Arabia before heading to Qatar to meet with Qatari leader Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani. While Kushner’s trip likely relates to increased Iranian aggression and potential normalization with the Jewish State, the full agenda remains unknown.
