Shin Bet confirms close to 500 arrests made and 480 attacks thwarted in last year, reports Hamas active in terror efforts in West Bank with guidance from Gaza, Lebanon and Turkey.

Israel’s Security Agency reported that Hamas is active in Judea and Samaria and that Israel thwarted 480 attacks in the past year.
During a meeting between Israel’s Foreign Affairs Committee and Defense Committee Tuesday, Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) head Nadav Argaman reported that despite the relative calm in the West Bank, Hamas is actively attempting and plotting terror attacks with “guidance from the Gaza Strip, Turkey and Lebanon”.
Argaman reported following the committee’s meeting that terror attacks and cyber attacks were prevented by the IDF, Israeli Police and Shin Bet, stating “We have successfully thwarted 480 attacks in the past year including 219 Hamas cells… [and] arrested about 500 individual terrorists… we succeeded last year in thwarting cyber activity, both terror and spying, against the state of Israel.” He referred to the numbers as significantly high and “indicative of the terrorism bubbling under the surface”.
He added that despite of “relative calm… on the surface Hamas is trying with all its might to carry out terrorist attacks from Judea and Samaria with guidance from the Gaza Strip, Turkey and Lebanon.”
Iran and its proxies continue to supply Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad with weapons, materials and finances for terror activity against the State of Israel. Mid-October, the IDF confirmed that a barrage of rocket attacks was directed by Iran and its Quds Forces. It confirmed at the time “30+ rockets were launched from Gaza to Israel by Palestinian Islamic Jihad with Iran’s encouragement.” Over 10 of the rockets fired were intercepted by the Iron Dome, the IDF retaliating heavily following the barrage of rocket attacks.
