Israel’s famous missile defense system intercepted a Rocket that was launched from Gaza on Sunday; This is the first reported missile launch from Gaza in nearly a month.

On Sunday night, a rocket was launched into southern Israel from the Gaza Strip for the first time in almost a month. However, the rocket was intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system. It’s reported that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had just appointed its new head of command for the Gaza Division.

In its statement, the IDF said, “One rocket launch was detected from the territory of the Gaza Strip toward Israel, which was intercepted by aerial defense soldiers.” In the aftermath of the interception, shrapnel from the Iron Dome projectile reportedly damaged a vehicle.

While no one was injured, thousands of Israelis had to enter their bomb shelters.
