The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded with several strikes in Gaza on Tuesday night; These strikes came after several projectiles were launched earlier in the day leading to several fires in southern Israel.

The IDF struck multiple Hamas targets in Gaza on Tuesday evening after at least one rocket and several incendiary balloons were fired into southern Israel near Ashkelon. This was the seventh day straight that Israel has hit Hamas targets in Gaza.

Thousands of Israelis had to enter bomb shelters as a result of the rocket being fired. Two young girls were injured in the process.

Israeli aircraft is said to have struck one target that was revealed to be a facility where “special units” belonging to Hamas are located. The IDF released a statement wherein they said, “The IDF takes all terrorist activity against Israeli territory very seriously and is prepared and willing to act as much as necessary against attempts to harm Israeli citizens. The terrorist organization Hamas bears responsibility for what is happening in and out of the Gaza Strip, and will bear the consequences of terrorist acts against Israeli citizens.”

Preparing for whatever might be next as things escalate, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “I regret that we are also preparing, to the extent necessary, for the possibility of a round or rounds. I hope that we will not get there.”
