Reports indicate that Israel’s Iron Dome intercepted one rocket that was launched from Gaza on Friday; This follows Thursday evening’s attack from Gaza that included several rockets.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a retaliatory attack on Hamas targets late on Friday after a rocket was launched into southern Israel near the town of Sderot. Reports suggest that an IDF tank was successful in striking Hamas military outpost(s).
A representative from the IDF stated, “IDF tanks struck military posts of the terrorist organization Hamas in the southern Gaza Strip. The strike was carried out in retaliation for the rocket launch from the territory of the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory overnight.”
Israel’s Iron Dome intercepted the projectile. The only injuries that took place were a few of those who were hurt while attending to their bomb shelters.
Earlier on Friday, the IDF also struck several Hamas interests, including weapon production facilities, after a dozen rockets were launched on Thursday night. Nine of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome while three landed in open fields, or even within Gaza.
