I had never thought of the Prodigal Son parable as a picture of the Church and Israel. The Lord showed me that the Faithful Son, who is with the Father, is the Church. The Prodigal Son could have been Israel that went away to seek its own righteousness and then return to The Lord. The Lord is not going to reject them; The Lord is going to embrace them.
