With tensions rising over Israel’s coming annexation of their biblical and historic homeland(s), evangelical leaders in America are continuing to pressure the White House to give their support; Evans: I believe that any aide advising the president to withdraw his support on the application of sovereignty could jeopardize the president’s chances of winning the elections.

Israel’s annexation of their historical and biblical homeland(s), Judea & Samaria, is now facing a delay pending the Trump administration’s approval. Part of the issue Israel is facing is that the White House is looking for Netanyahu and Gantz to be on the same page before proceeding. With so much of the international community warning of the consequences of the annexation, as well as some of President Trump’s advisors, the event has come to a “pause”.

In the wake of this delay, prominent evangelical leaders in the United States are now urging the president to give his approval despite the opposition. They’re warning that withholding this initiative could harm his chances of being re-elected in November.

One leader, Dr. Mike Evans, after revealing his belief that several of Trump’s advisors are pressuring the president not to give Israel his approval, emphasized the significance of the Evangelical’s vote. In an interview with Ynet News, he stated.

“Our support is crucial, and he cannot win it without us. We are 100% supportive of applying Israeli sovereignty to the region. Our support of this did not begin with Trump, but with our Bible, because we believe that God decided to apply sovereignty thousands of years ago and told it to the Jewish people’s prophets.”

Dr. Evans went on to say, “I believe that any aide advising the president to withdraw his support on the application of sovereignty could jeopardize the president’s chances of winning the elections. The worst thing the president can do during an election is announce his rejection of recognizing the land of the Bible since all Evangelicals are united behind the Bible where it is stated that who blesses Israel – God blesses him. We will push any advisor urging him to refrain from supporting the application of sovereignty out of the White House.”

Though he issued his warnings, Evans acknowledged his belief that President Trump will soon give approval to Israel due to the fact that an election is only months away.

Having a solid understanding of the nature of President Trump, Evans concluded, “If you forfeit the lands of the Bible, that will be an issue for the president. President Trump is a very brave man who cannot be bought, he never kneels. The president understands the Bible is not illegal, and we want him to say that. He would not have won the last election without us. He has done more than we wanted in the last three and a half years. We believe he will not change. When he is under pressure, it only gives him more energy.”

If Dr. Evans is right about the president’s advisors, this wouldn’t be the first time in history that a US president’s cabinet urged him not to support Israel at a time of such “controversy”. Harry S. Truman faced similar pressure in 1948 when members of his cabinet and several officials urged him not to recognize Israel as a sovereign nation. With Israel now existing in the modern era for 72 years, you can see which decision he made despite the pressure – one that truly ushered the world into a new time in history.
