David, when faced with the opportunity to kill King Saul, chose not to listen to his men’s advice and instead relied on the Holy Spirit. He demonstrated his faith in God by refusing to raise his hand against the Lord’s anointed. This is why God loved David so much, as he was always listening and relying on the Spirit of God for guidance in both simple and complex matters.
