POTUS released a very strong warning via twitter on Monday, warning the Islamic Republic of the consequences they’d face should they target American personnel.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump put the Islamic Republic of Iran on notice following reports of its plot to assassinate the US ambassador to South Africa. Iran is reportedly plotting an attack on a US diplomat in retaliation for the US killing Former General Qassem Soleimani earlier this year. Soleimani oversaw Iran’s Quds Force and was a general for the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
Trump took to Twitter, “According to press reports, Iran may be planning an assassination, or other attack, against the United States in retaliation for the killing of terrorist leader Soleimani, which was carried out for his planning a future attack, murdering U.S. Troops, and the death & suffering caused over so many years. Any attack by Iran, in any form, against the United States will be met with an attack on Iran that will be 1,000 times greater in magnitude!”
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo added in an interview, “We make very clear to the Islamic Republic of Iran that this kind of activity – attacking any American any place at any time, whether it’s an American diplomat, an ambassador, or one of our service members – is completely unacceptable.”
Iran has denied reports of the assassination, dismissing them as attempts to advance an anti-Iranian agenda. However, regardless of its denials, Iran is responsible for its proxy’s attacks on US military bases in Iraq in recent weeks.
