The Iranian believer, Zaman Fadaee, was sentenced to ten years in one of Iran’s most notorious prisons – simply for being a Bible-believing Christian.

An Iranian Christian convert by the name of Zaman Fadaee, AKA Saheb, received 80 lashes on Sunday for consuming communion wine. He’s not the first to receive lashing for this, and sadly, he may not be the last.

At least one report indicates that Saheb suffered injuries during the lashing, which does not come as a surprise. And it was the US assistant special envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism at the State Department, Ellie Cohanim, who told The Jerusalem Post, “The Iranian Regime has consistently trampled on the human rights of the people of Iran. The United States stand with the people of Iran in their quest for religious freedom and all other basic human rights.”

Saheb has been sentenced to one of Iran’s most notorious prisons, the Evin Prison. It’s reported that intelligence agents on behalf of the Islamic republic raided an in-home church service back in 2016 and arrested Saheb and several others at that time. In 2017, he and four other men were sentenced to ten years for “acting against the national security through propagating house churches and promoting Zionist Christianity.”

Since their 2016 sentencing, it has been reduced to six years and two years of domestic exile.

Philippians 1:27-30
Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.
