Two days late, round of negotiations ends; EU Foreign Policy Chief and Iran FM to read statements followed by questions from reporters
Iran and world powers announced a framework deal on Iran’s nuclear program to be implemented by the designated deadline of June 30.
The current round of negotiations in Lausanne, Switzerland, which have been ongoing and two days late of the March 31 deadline, have come to an end as policy makers announced a framework deal has been made.
A press conference is expected to occur in the next few hours where European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini and Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will read statements in English and Farsi , followed by questions from reporters to be answered by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Zarif.
According to reports more than two-thirds of Iran’s enrichment capacity will be “decommissioned” and “monitored” for a ten year period if a final agreement is made by June 30th. Additionally, Iran would “down blend” (dilute) or ship enriched uranium stocks according to sources from head of state.
