Orange CEO Stephane Richard arrived in Israel for a two-day visit in the region. The Prime Minister’s office confirmed that Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with Richard, Richard stating that his visit is mainly in part to “clarify the misunderstanding”.

Richard arrives following his announcement last week that Orange would pull its licensing partnership with Israel, one day later Richard retracting the statement and stating “Orange is in Israel to stay”.

Richard stated to AFP that he regrets his comments and that he was invited to visit Israel by the Knesset. He reportedly sent a letter to Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely that stated, “Orange does not support any form of boycott, in Israel or anywhere else in the world.”
