Prime Minister Netanyahu left for the United States early Sunday morning for a five-day tour to include meeting with President Trump and speaking before the AIPAC annual convention.

Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed talks with President Trump would center on nuclear Iran as well as the peace process. Netanyahu will also personally thank President Trump for expediting the relocation of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, scheduled for this May during Israel’s 70th Independence Day.

The prime minister stated before boarding the plane, “This is a very important visit. I will meet with a very great friend of Israel, and my personal friend, US President Donald Trump. First of all, I will thank him for the historic decision to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem on Independence Day. This is a very big present for our country.”

He added, “I intend to discuss with him a series of issues but first Iran – its aggression, its nuclear aspirations, and its aggressive actions in the Middle East in general and on our borders, all of them, in particular. I think that the need to rebuff this aggression is a common goal for us and for nearby countries in the region, but first of all it is ours, that of all Israelis.” He reported three goals for his visit, “security, peace and economic prosperity for all citizens of Israel, for our country.”

Netanyahu also confirmed that the peace process would be discussed in a meeting with Trump and Jared Kushner.

He will address the AIPAC annual convention on Tuesday, followed by meetings with US officials from the Senate and Congress.
