Israel’s Defense Ministry gave approval for over 14,000 tons of building and construction materials into the Gaza Strip, the shipments arriving on Thursday.

There is an official ban on the shipment of cement and iron due to Hamas’s active tunnel construction, however the shipments were approved due to damages from Operation Protective Edge.

Over 354 trucks passed through the border of Israel and the Gaza Strip at the Kerem Shalom crossing. The materials are designated for the rebuilding of a reported 100,000 homes that were destroyed during this past summer’s operation against Hamas’s terror tunnels, weapons caches, rocket launching locations and terrorist locations.

According to the United Nations, over 100,000 Gaza residents are reportedly homeless. These reports however come mainly from Hamas and have not been officially confirmed.

From July 8, over 2,900 rockets were fired into Israel and 44 tunnels into Israel destroyed during Operation Protective Edge.

This week reports surfaced confirming that Hamas’s military chief of staff , Mohammed Deif, is in fact alive after an Israeli Air Force strike on his residence in Gaza City. The military leader’s public funeral was staged and intelligence reports confirm that the Dief is actively planning Hamas’s next major attack on Israel with a reported 1,000 active construction workers on Hamas’s renewed tunnel networks.
