Israel hit by major dust and haze storm

Country filled with haze and dust, as storm from east sets in region; Mild-heat wave expected through out the week

Israel is experiencing a massive dust storm, the country covered in haze with warnings of high pollution through out the country.

The storm moved into the region from the east Tuesday morning and will remain into the evening with predictions of a small heat wave through out the week.

Israel’s Environment Protection Ministry warned of high air pollution, the scientific manager of the Air Monitoring Center stating, “the haze will cover all of Israel. We will continue to track and monitor developments” warning that the “storm comes in addition the existing high heat and high humidity.”

Israel will experience high temperatures and humidity through till the end of the week, just ahead of the Jewish New Year, Rosh HaShana. Temperatures in Jerusalem are expected to rise as high as 36, 33 in Tel Aviv and the center of Israel, 30-31 in the Galilee region and 40-42 in Eilat and through out the Negev region.
