Israel constructing wind turbines in Golan Heights

After nearly 30 years, Israel building 25 wind turbines

Israel has begun constructing wind turbines in northern Israel. 25 turbines are being built on two different farms in Ramat Sirin and Ma’ale Gilboa in the Golan Heights not far from the border with Syria.

It has been close to 30 years since the last construction of wind turbines, the project part of Afcon Holdings’ cooperation with Eli Ben-Dov who formerly worked for the Electric Cooporation of Israel. The project has reportedly been tied up in bureaucracy for years.

The turbines can produce 25 megawatts of electricity, Israel’s electricity generating capacity at 13.000 megawatts.
