The Israeli Air Force responded to a rocket fired into Israel Wednesday night, targeting and hitting the rocket launcher and site in northern Gaza. The Omar Brigades, a Salafist Group in the Gaza Strip took responsibility for the attack, as they did in the past two rocket attacks on Israel.

According to the IDF, a rocket was fired into Israel landing in an open field with no damages or injuries reported. The IDF stated that, “The terror organization Hamas is the address, and on it lies the responsibility.”

Chairman of the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council, Yair Farjun, stated that Israel “must not be complacent. The war between them inside the Strip does not interest us… It should be made absolutely clear to the other side that we are not willing to take either a flotilla or fire from Gaza,” in reference to the three-ship flotilla organized by Swedish pro-Palestinian activists which will attempt to illegally enter the Gaza Strip in the coming days.
