Four injured in terror attack near Hadera Sunday night

Four Israelis were injured in a terror attack on Sunday night at a shopping center near Kibbutz Gan Shmuel. The terrorist ran into two soldiers with his vehicle, leaving the car and stabbing a 19-year old soldier, 15-year old and 45-year old.

The female soldier is currently hospitalized in serious condition, the other three victims suffering from light to moderate wounds.

The terrorist, 20, from Umm al-Fahm, was arrested by the security forces and is currently being questioned by authorities.

Additionally, two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel Sunday night. No injuries or damages were reported.

With increased violence and numerous terror attacks over the past week and a half, 13 Border Police Companies, between 1,000-1,500 border police officer reservists have been called to duty, their deployment mainly in Jerusalem amidst tension at the Temple Mount. A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office stated: The mobilization of forces will continue as necessary. An increased presence is a primary preventive and deterrent measure.

In a security cabinet meeting Sunday, Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed judicial officials to take measures and assemble evidence to outlaw the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel on the basis of incitement. If successful, the movement would be made illegal. A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office stated: The security establishment has in recent days, on instruction from the prime minister, formulated a series of actions against the Islamic Movement and the incitement that it is fomenting.

On Sunday morning a terrorist attempted to stab a border police officer in Old City Jerusalem, but failed. The assailant was shot and killed by border police officers.
