Israel Defense Minister warned Syria and Iran against any further provocation with the State of Israel, stating “It’s not time to bark, it’s time to bite and we’ll bite hard. I hope we won’t have to do it.”

Lieberman toured Israel’s northern city of Kiryat Shmona on Tuesday morning, reporting that Israel’s Finance Ministry will invest over $14 million to “fortifying the home front here in the north,” including improving bomb shelters for northern cities amidst imminent threats from Syria and Lebanon.

Speaking to the city’s residents following his tour, Lieberman addressed the recent security incident with Syria after an Iranian drone entered Israel. The IDF carried out several strikes in Syria on Iranian and Syrian Army sites, Syrian anti-missile rockets downing one of Israel’s F-16’s.

He stated “We manage things with determination and responsibility and there are no restrictions, we do not accept any restrictions. We acted with determination and responded to every provocation. We will continue to defend our vital security interests,” warning “It’s not time to bark, it’s time to bite and we’ll bite hard. I hope we won’t have to do it.”

On Russia’s presence in Syria and its military coordination with Israel, which Lieberman described as “effective,” he stated, “It is clear that each side has its own interests. Each side sees the picture differently. In the years of civil war in Syria, we were able to avoid direct friction, and that is an achievement in itself. This is an effective relationship.”
