IDF retaliates after two rockets fired at Israel, one intercepted by Iron Dome

A smoke trail is seen as a rocket is launched from the northern Gaza Strip towards Israel

2 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel Friday evening.

The first rocket landed near Sderot around 8:00 pm with a second rocket intercepted by the Iron Dome a few hours later.

Israeli Air Force and Navy responded to the rocket attacks, the IDF reporting that three targets were struck in northern Gaza.

The IDF deployed an Iron Dome anti-missile battery in Ashdod, southern Israel on Thursday due to elevated security concerns by the southern command.

The Salafist terrorist organization “The Sheikh Omar Hadid Brigade” took responsibility for the rocket attacks.
